UPS driver shocks the internet after revealing his weekly paycheck

For many viewers, those numbers were hard to not pay special attention to.

Shock, Comparisons, and a Little Bit of Jealousy
The reaction on social media was insane!

His content quickly filled with comments from people comparing their own paychecks to his, especially those who had spent years in school or building careers.

“Not me realizing that a UPS driver makes more than I do. 20 years in my field with a degree!” one person lamented.

Another added, “$44? I’m a dang nurse only making $32.”

Some joked about switching careers altogether, but beneath the humor, there was a clear sense of frustration.

The Long Road Behind the Paycheck
What many didn’t see at first glance was the journey it took to reach that level of income. In follow-up videos, Stutzman explained that his position didn’t come with a blink of an eye.

He shared that it took nearly six years just to secure a full-time driving position. After that, it was another four years of gradual raises before reaching top notch earnings. Altogether, that’s about 10 years of work, something one viewer compared to the time it takes to become a doctor.

He also pointed out that many drivers begin their careers inside warehouses before ever getting behind the wheel.

More Than Just a Paycheck
Stutzman said his goal wasn’t to spark envy, but to highlight transparency—something strongly encouraged by the Teamsters union during their intense negotiations in 2023.

His post, he explained, was meant to show what collective bargaining can actually achieve: better pay, improved conditions, and long-term stability. Among the changes discussed were wage increases and even the introduction of air-conditioned delivery trucks—something drivers had never had before.
